Visa Information
(Nepal Tourist Visa)

Foreigner who intends to visit Nepal must hold valid passport or any travel document equivalent to passport issued by the government for visiting a foreign country prior to apply for visa. No foreigners are entitled to enter into and stay in the Kingdom of Nepal without valid Visa.

Tourist Visa for Nepal can be obtained for 60 days (for first time visitors) from Nepalese Embassy or Consulate in or near your home country. Or you can get visa instantly upon arrival at Kathmandu International Airport or other entry points in Nepal.

Fees, Duration and Facilities related to the Tourist Visa:

The minimum fee for a tourist visa is US $ 30.00 that permits you to stay 60 days in Nepal. This visa is called single entry tourist visa. If you wish to visit some other countries and come back to Nepal within the visa period of 60 days, you should mention that, you need multi-entry visa while you fill up the Visa application form. Your Multi-entry visa also will be of 60 days but the visa fee is US $ 80.00.

Somehow if you are visiting another country within the single entry visa period and will leave Nepal within 3 days after coming back, you will not have to pay multi-entry visa fee. (No visa fee is charged for Transition Period up to 4 days.)

Tourist Visa Extension & Fee:
Visa Extension for 30 more days without re-entry facility is US$ 30.00
Visa extension with multi-entry facility for 30 days is US$ 80.00
Somehow if someone has previously taken multiple re-entry facility in the same visa year will have to pay US$
  30.00 only.
A tourist may extend his/her visa up to 150 days in a visa year.
Tourists from mainland China and SAARC countries are not required to pay any visa fee.
